Counselling is not just listening! It is a safe place to challenge negative thinking, and gain coping strategies thus enabling change.
Counselling provides a secure and confidential place to share thoughts and explore feelings. A client may be experiencing dissatisfaction with life, a loss of direction, or feel they are not coping with things that usually wouldn’t be a problem.
The counselling relationship is one of acceptance and respect - the client will begin to trust the counsellor and feel able to explore different aspects of their life. This enables client to see things more clearly and often from a different perspective.
How can counselling help?
Counselling is not just listening! It is a safe place to challenge negative thinking, and gain coping strategies thus enabling change. Sandra, our counsellor, regards each person as unique and tailors sessions to meet their individual needs. Hers is a flexible, integrative approach, which makes full use of her wide expertise and extensive training. Courses of counselling can be either short-term or open-ended as is appropriate.
